Pembrokeshire Coast, South

The sea cliffs and sandy bays of Pembrokeshire provide coastal walking at its very best, and in 1952 the area was designated as a National Park. The rugged cliffs provide a home for a huge variety of sea birds and from the spring to the autumn the path is a blaze of colour with the myriad species of wild flowers which flourish in the mild south westerly breezes.

History and legends abound in Pembrokeshire, and our walks take us past ancient burial chambers, promontory forts, chapels and shrines established by Celtic wayfarers travelling between Ireland, Cornwall and Brittany.

Your walks will include some wonderful stretches of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, including those around the Elegug Stacks (offshore seastacks), The Green Bridge of Wales (a natural sea arch), St Govan Head with its tiny chapel built into the cliff face, the Bosherston Lily Ponds where a limestone valley was flooded and beautifully landscaped 200 years ago, Barafundle Bay with its secluded beach of golden sand, the tiny harbour and welcoming tearoom at Stackpole Quay, Freshwater Bay, Manobier Castle, the sweep of Saundersfoot Bay, and Tenby with its colourful fishermens' cottages and medieval town walls.

Accommodation
Unless you ask us to customise your trip, and choose alternative accommodation, your holiday on the Pembrokeshire Coast will be based at a comfortable family-run guest house in the attractive town of Tenby. Your room will have ensuite bathroom facilities and you will have a choice of continental or full Welsh breakfast. The harbour area of Tenby has a good variety of restaurants, inns and bistros serving meals in the evening.

The hotel is located on the clifftop with views down onto the harbour and around the full sweep of Saundersfoot Bay. The hotel offers a range of 'Good', 'Better' and 'Best' rooms, with sea views available within all categories, and the hotel restaurant offers a wide ranging menu prepared using fresh local ingredients.
