Weymouth, our base for this section of the South West Coast Path, is one of Britain's most popular holiday resorts, and came to the attention of the world in 2012 as the venue for the Olympic Games sailing events. The town has some superb Georgian architecture, a safe sandy beach, an attractive harbour and an abundance of amenities. Weymouth's location at the heart of the Jurassic Coast, and the Isle of Portland, make it perfect as a base for this holiday.
Weymouth has an wide range of shops, restaurants, beach cafés and pubs serving food in the evening, and plenty of shops where one can purchase the makings of a packed lunch.
The daily meeting point in Weymouth is on The Esplanade, beside the Jubilee Clock Tower.
