Self-guided Paths and Trails

Frequently Asked Questions

What sort of accommodation does Footpath Holidays use for Self-guided Paths and Trails?

For our Self-guided Paths and Trails we use bed and breakfast accommodation in clean and comfortable family guesthouses, country inns and small hotels where a friendly welcome is guaranteed. All bedrooms will have either ensuite bathroom facilities or a private bathroom. Where possible there will be a choice of a full cooked breakfast or a Continental breakfast, but in some places Continental may be the only option. Where possible we choose an accommodatio provider who is a member of the Green Tourism Business Scheme and holds an award which reflects their commitment to running their business in an environmentally sensitive manner.

Evening meals are not included so all accommodation will either be located close to an inn or restaurant which serves food in the evening, or provide evening meals in-house.

Occasionally a remote location, or lack of availability of suitable accommodation at the end of a walk stage, may make it necessary for us to either book you into one guesthouse or inn for more than one night, or to book you into accommodation which is more than one kilometre off-route. If this happens we will provide transport to transfer you between the walking route and your accommodation.

"Just to say we have had another good walking holiday and that all the B&Bs were good. Clean, comfortable and the people very welcoming, and good breakfasts, we really enjoyed them all. Also the taxis worked well they were always there on time, very friendly and our luggage was always there for us."
