Sunday: From the historic village of Porlock we will head down quiet country lanes reach the idyllic coastal village of Bossington with its period cottages, tall chimneys and bread ovens. A walk through the tiny settlement of Lynch and across the fields and through broad-leaf woodland full of autumn colour brings us into the National Trust village of Allerford where we cross over the iconic packhorse bridge beside the ford. A wooded climb across the hillside brings us out onto Selworthy Beacon - the highpoint for the day - with its stunning views across Exmoor and out to sea, and the sound of red deer stags in rut. A final descent brings us into the village of Selworthy Green with its white-washed church, thatched cottages clustered around the village green, and the inviting Periwinkle tearoom.

The distance for the day is 8 miles (13kms)
